Rodney Crowell’s has being one of the artists of the decade for me, in that time he’s released four critically acclaimed albums each on a different label - The Houston Kid (February 2001), Fate’s Right Hand (July 2003), The Outsider (August 2005) and Sex and Gasoline (Sept 2008), my favourite of the four albums is The Outsider, love the title track, Dancing Circles Around the Sun and Don’t Get Me Started. During a appearance on Woodsongs back in 2005 Crowell treated the audience to two tracks each from, Fate’s Right Hand and The Outsider, and three from The Houston Kid including the re-working of Johnny Cash’s I Walk the Line, throw in Making Memories of Us and you have a great set of songs, Crowell was brilliantly supported by Will Kimbrough and Jedd Hughes whose solo contributions I posted recently, the full show is well worth watching for Crowell’s anecdotes.
