Winner of the UK Blog Sound of 2014 Marika Hackman has being enjoying a big build-up, and deservedly so, ahead of the release of her forthcoming debut album We Slept At Last there has being plenty of media coverage, including a recent session on 6Music for Lauren Laverne which can be enjoyed for a couple of weeks before it disappears into the archive and a recent feature in the Guardian online, here’s the brand new video for Animal Fear a teaser track from the album that was featured here a couple of weeks ago.

Latest and greatest (so far) taster track from Marika’s forthcoming debut full length We Slept At Last which is released via Dirty Hit on the 15th of February, the physical editions of album will be released with an art booklet (24-page vinyl / 28-page CD) containing a series of poetic and powerful images by Californian-born photographer Glen Erler, that are inspired by and resonate with the same dark narrative as We Slept At Last. Celebrating the album release, Marika will be exhibiting the full collection of photos in Camden’s Cob Gallery on 18th February and performing the record in full with her band.

Compelling first single from the forthcoming debut release We Slept At Last which will be out on the 16th of Feb next year, the single Drown is released digitally on December the 8th.
