On home recording and the writing process, Mike says – “I need to keep writing and recording all year round – it keeps me sane! I write everyday but I’ve only recently started recording at home by myself. I’ve never been good at the technical side of things but I’m confident enough now to release them. I still have no real idea what I’m doing but I don’t care, it’s pure joy.”
Had some nice words to say back in March on hearing the single by Co-pilgrim from this , the band’s third full length release, Plumes which lives up to and indeed exceeds the expectation generated by the single, the “harmonies and swirling guitars” are tempered and enhanced with some wonderfully melodic and dreamy soundscapes that occupy the albums primary aural introspection – creating a piece of work that draws the listener in and under it’s skin – highly recommended.
It’s out today and you buy the CD, or better still the vinyl, direct from the band’s label here.

What is the defining point in an artist’s life that makes them take a path that will envelope their interests and work for the rest of their life? Every musician has a point, usually in their teens, that is an awakening (or at least a way to kill time!) that excites their senses and drives them to pick up a guitar, microphone, drum kit…hell, even a laptop and start producing music. My 1st Record, My 1st Store. is a physical and digital diary from BATTLE WORLDWIDE RECORDINGS artistes and partners, put together for Record Store Day 2014

Following on from last years album A Fairer Sea this double a-side release is taken from Co-pilgrim’s follow up album, Plumes which is set for release on the 26th of May 2014, the pair of tracks set a high standard for the album capturing the timeless sound of West Coast Americana with great harmonies and swirling guitars – and if that’s not enough the band have also recorded a sun bleached version of Don Henley’s classic Boy’s of Summer which could just be the best version you’ve ever heard – the single will be available to buy on Battle Worldwide Recordings at the end of March.
The first single taken from the album, A Fairer Sea, set for release on Battle Worldwide Recordings in November. The album, released in February 2013 was mixed by Mark Gardener (Ride) and Joe Bennett (The Dreaming Spires)
