The Dreaming Spires (& Friends) – Paisley Overground (coloured vinyl)

New from At The Helm Records is a fantastic mini-album – 8 tracks, four from The Dreaming Spires on the a-side and four from friends, Sid Griffin & Tony Poole, Co-Pilgrim, The Hanging Stars and The Raving Beauties on the flip side.

Three of The Dreaming Spires tracks were recorded at the legendary Ardent Studios in Memphis, the fourth Silverlake Sky was written on Sunset Strip during a band tour before being recorded back home in Oxfordshire with a vintage Eko 12-string acoustic.

The album is available digitally as well as lovely vinyl from the fine folks At The Helm Records.

Mike Gale – Another Planet

BATTLE037_800x800_72DPI

Another Planet is the new album from Co-pilgrim front man Mike Gale, the album is a lo-fi home recording performed entirely solo by Mike and is available now from Battle Worldwide.

On home recording and the writing process, Mike says – “I need to keep writing and recording all year round – it keeps me sane! I write everyday but I’ve only recently started recording at home by myself. I’ve never been good at the technical side of things but I’m confident enough now to release them. I still have no real idea what I’m doing but I don’t care, it’s pure joy.”

Co-pilgrim – Plumes

12_Inch_Vinyl_Outer_Sleeve_copilgrim

Had some nice words to say back in March on hearing the single by Co-pilgrim from this , the band’s third full length release, Plumes which lives up to and indeed exceeds the expectation generated by the single, the “harmonies and swirling guitars” are tempered and enhanced with some wonderfully melodic and dreamy soundscapes that occupy the albums primary aural introspection – creating a piece of work that draws the listener in and under it’s skin – highly recommended.

It’s out today and you buy the CD, or better still the vinyl, direct from the band’s label here.
