Not sure who’s going to fill the indie-pop chasm that will be left behind when Fortuna POP! close the doors after twenty years , but there’s still a chance to get your hands on the last few 45s that are being released as part of the labels swansong singles club set, Cinema Red And Blue’s “Come Back To The City, Babyface” is one of those final few pop gems.
Meadowlark have today shared an emotional new video for their current single ‘Postcards’. As with all of Meadowlarks’ videos, ‘Postcards’ was directed by the band’s guitarist Dan Broadley. In keeping with the concept of the song itself, which is a message to an ex-lover, Meadowlark called upon their fans to contribute to the creation of this video and asked them to send in postcards with messages to those who have impacted their life in a significant way, good or bad.
Overwhelmed with the reaction to their call out and armed with a collection of personal and emotional messages, Dan then set to work, selecting the postcards that resonated best with the concept of the song and built the resulting video around these messages. The project as a whole has acted as a cathartic experience for both Meadowlark and their fans alike.
