Jason Isbell & 400 Unit – Mountain Stage

This is a great Mountain Stage performance from by Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit (Jimbo Hart on bass, Derry deBorja on keyboards, Chad Gamble on drums and Browan Lollar on slide guitar), the band performed five tracks from last years wonderful self titled album, which has never being far from my turntable since it’s release.

The good news is the the man himself is back in the studio cooking up another set of songs at FAME – can’t wait.

Ryan Bingham’s Rugged Country

The guy who gargles whiskey and grit is making headlines with his song The Weary Kind that features in the film Crazy Heart, never been much on soundtracks but this one looks like it may force me to make an exception given the tracklisting.

Here’s a treat for you three live cuts from Mr Bingham from his last appearance on NPR, including Southside of Heaven from his album Mescalito – my favourite tune from his repertoire plus a great rendition of Hard Times from the same album and a track from last years album Roadhouse Sun.
