Beat Surrender favourites bentcousin who I’ve featured a number of times, and who got my vote for Blogsound 2015, will release their eponymous debut album via Team Love records on the 19th of February – I’ve being lucky enough to get my hands on a pre-release and have being enjoying their album for a few weeks now and though I had an idea what to expect from the band following a series of collaborations – released online, singles and their fantastic EP Dizzy the album has provided some lovely surprises and is a real joy to listen too.

Where Do I Belong Featuring Lord Gabe & Lo-Fye

The Brighton based band, fronted by twins Pat and Amelia, have put together an eclectic set of tunes for their debut long-player featuring a number of collaborations including Guiville, Alcatraz Electro, Kenwood, Lord Gabe and Lo-Fye, before closing the record with a track featuring punk legend and founding member of The Clash – Keith Levine.  Together with their collaborators the twins take the listener on a joyous roller-coaster genre ride with elements of indie-pop, cute-core, neo-disco, rap, jangle-pop and new wave all featuring on a beautifully irreverent album that sees the band explore their musical influences without the need to conform to mainstream vogue. Highly recommended.
