The Commandeer

Phoenix, AZ based singer-songwriter Jeremiah Craig’s latest project The Commandeer EP is the first of his releases to be issued on vinyl, the five song release was recorded with local musicians at Audioconfusion in Mesa, Craig (Vocals and Acoustic Guitar) was joined by Travis Lee (Lead Acoustic Guitar), Jake Boucher (Upright Bass) and Jason Ford (Mandolin) cut the EP free of digital enhancements taking advantage of the studios natural acoustics which reflect in the warmth of the recording which is available in digital and on 10″ vinyl, the A-side begins with the songs Benjamin Gunn and Commandeer which take inspiration from Craig’s first meeting with his girlfriend and themes from Robert Louis Stephenson’s Treasure Island – for more about the EP you can read an interview with Jeremiah at Ear To The Ground Music.

With the digital content overload that fills the BS inbox these days, and the sometimes disconcerting feeling that many people view music as a disposable commodity it’s always refreshing when artists have the belief in their craft to release their creations on vinyl and present the listener with a tangible and physical connection to the music – you can listen to the EP below buy the EP at Bandcamp.
