Annie and the Beekeepers – My Bonneville

I first came across Annie and The Beekeepers back in 2009 thanks to a video shoot featured on the incredible Music Fog, the track Again & Again became an instant favourite and I picked up a copy of the band’s début EP The Squid Sessions, after that they haven’t been on my radar but I got a PR email recently about the bands upcoming album My Bonneville that’s set for release at the end of next month and I’ve been enjoying the album for a few weeks now.

I loved Annie Lynch’s vocal from the first time I heard Again and Again and it shines throughout My Bonneville,  Annie (guitar, lead vocals) is joined by The Beekeepers –  Jeni Magana (bassist/vocalist) and Andrew Michael Buri (multi-instrumentalist/vocalist), together they’ve produced a great Americana album that successfully combines traditional folk with a contemporary dynamic that makes for a really engaging listen.

The band are building themselves a solid reputation and have played at SXSW and  The Boston Folk Festival, sold out Bowery Ballroom, Town Hall, and The Berklee Performance Center  as well as supporting Americana luminaries including Josh Ritter, Justin Townes Earle and The Low Anthem.
