Al Lewis – Our Lines Remain EP

I first stumbled across Al Lewis while browsing the excellent Bandstand Busking site where Al was recorded collaborating with Beat Surrender favourite Sarah Howells.

The Welsh singer-songwriter comes from the North of the country and his latest release a 4 track EP is the follow up to his inaugural Welsh Music Prize nominated album In the Wake and the Live on the Wire EP featuring performances recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios which were also filmed as part of the Abbey Rd Debuts series on Channel 4, both Sarah Howells and Mary Erskine joined Al for the recording and do so again on  Our Lines Remain, the EP was recorded and mixed by Phill Brown who has both Bombay Bicycle Club and the lauded Laura Marling on his CV, Al also has some notable credits on his CV and has won the award for ‘Best Male Artist’ two years in a row (2011/12) at the BBC Radio Cymru Awards and supported another Beat Surrender favourite and 6Music DJ Cerys Matthews.

You can get your hands on the EP from Amazon and iTunes on it’s release July 1st.

Al will be on tour later this year in October and you can check out plenty more of Al’s recordings including Welsh language songs at his Soundcloud page.
