Birmingham Alabama band 13ghosts have been playing, recording and releasing music since 1999 and despite having 3 EP’s and 4 LP’s under their belt until a track turned up on June’s edition of the Feel Bad For You mix-tape the band had not being on my personal music radar, well after listening to Liar’s Melody it seems I have some homework to do as the band fit squarely into my listening profile with their quality blend of rough hewn rock and roots.
After a hiatus the band return with stalwart Brad Armstrong front and centre on lead vocals and guitar, Jason Lucia on drums, Sammy Boggan on bass and A. Vernon anchoring the band as multi-instrumentalist, the four-piece are joined by Maria Taylor on vocals for two of the albums quieter moments Broken Objects and the title track which counterpoint nicely with the grittier sound that dominates the release.
