I mentioned this album briefly before a few weeks ago and posted a track that caught my attention provided by the PR folks, I’ve now had the opportunity to spend some time with the full album and it’s certainly made a good impression, here my favourite from the album.
Tim Easton & the Freelan Barons – Nobody Plays Piano in Athens, Ga
Tim Easton I’ve been a fan of for some time and I have most of his back catalogue in one format or another, on this album he’s joined by the The Freelan Barons – Mark Stepro (drums, Ben Kweller), Aaron Lee Tasjan (guitar & piano, Madison Square Gardeners) and Alex Livingstone (bass, Grand Champeen).
Tim Easton – Daily Life by Low Life Inc
As well as the band album Easton has released at the same time a contrasting solo album Since 1966 Volume 1 which I’d highly recommend checking out, the acoustic based album recorded in several locations including his own front yard, a mountain cabin in Idyllwild, CA, a Travelodge in Yucca Valley, CA and Basement On A Hill studio in the San Fernando Valley. The former New West artists’s latest pair of albums are released through his own Campfire Propaganda Records label, and in case you didn’t know Easton is also one third of ESP (Easton Stagger Phillips) who’s One For the Ditch album is well worth checking out too.
Here’s a fantastic track and a favourite from Since 1966 Volume 1
