The Breakers S/T (Wicked Cool Records 2011)

First thing that grabs you about Danish rock ‘n’ rollers The Breakers is the striking resemblance of lead-singer Toke Nilsted’s vocals to legendary Faces frontman Rod Stewart and there’s more than a dash of swagger and Faces attitude in the music too. The band are set to play a slot at Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park on June 25th, a return to the location where they played last summer, and it will no doubt get them some good publicity and lever some sales of their latest self-titled album, the Copenhagen based quintet were signed to Wicked Cool Records in 2008 by legend Little Steven van Zandt who co-wrote some of the tracks on the album as well as handling the arrangement and production, the band have built up a solid following in their homeland and are touring with Bon Jovi through June and July across Europe.
