American Gun "Therapy" (Jangly Records 2011)

Therapy is album number five from the heartland rockers American Gun, no pretence just a straight up piece of rock n roll the album lives up to it’s title – one to turn up loud and sing along to.

The set of ten original tracks are penned by frontman and Twangville contributor Todd Mathis who after a line-up change has taken up the challenge of providing the fuel for the band and a fine job of it makes too. You can check out all the tracks at Bandcamp couldn’t decide on a favourite so I went for this one.

Melody Walker “III EP”

Melody Walker is in the process of raising funds for her debut full length album, she’s using a her three track EP, entitled simply III to aid the effort and there’s an interesting back story to the lead off track Gold Rush Goddess – which you can check out at No Depression, the EP features Melody on tenor banjo, guitar and vocals with musical partner Jacob Groopman on mandolin, guitar and vocals, on the strength of the three tracks the album’s definitely worth a punt.
