Released by Yerbird The Falls is the debut full length album from White Pines the musical aka for Michigan native Joseph Scott, now resident in Akron, OH he was a member of several bands before realizing he had to go it alone to fulfil his musical vision, a canny blend of fleshed out indie folk that draws the listener in and immerses you in it’s moody atmospherics. The writing is A1, ten excellent originals and Scott’s voice is one that sits perfectly with them and the arrangements.
Can albums be labelled as seasons, I guess so and this one is well titled as it carries an autumnal feel, beautifully melancholic it one of those albums that delivers it message slowly and deliberately, multi-layered and endlessly listenable this is a collection of songs I will be returning to often.
