Steve Wynn & the Miracle 3 “Northern Aggression” (Yeproc 2010)

Have being really enjoying the latest Steve Wynn & The Miracle Three release on Yep Roc and Bluerose in Europe the 11-track album hits the stores at the end of the month and is the fourth from the prolific Dream Syndicate founder with the Miracle Three trio of Jason Victor, Linda Pitmon and Dave Decastro.

It’s an album of little pretence, preferring instead to go straight for the rock n roll jugular Wynn’s brings his 25 plus years in the business to bear on the album  - it has a certain retro feel to it without being stale or simply going through the motions, the album kicks of with a dirty little psychedelic number Resolution which has become a firm favourite along with the infectious No One Ever Drowns and Colored Lights, at this point were not at the halfway point of the album and there’s no let up in the quality and strength of the music right through to the end, Wynn has posted a track by track synopsis on his Facebook page and there’s a month long tour in Europe during this month – sadly no UK dates.

Here’s the first and last track from album, the in-between is just as good, highly recommended.
