Austin, TX-based singer-songwriter Jonny Burke is set to release his debut full-length album, “Distance And Fortune,” on February 22, 2011, produced by former Black Crowe guitarist Marc Ford and with a co-write with Hayes Carll on “Don’t Let Me Fall” on first listen it’s sounding pretty good and one to keep any eye out for next year.
Burke’s musical friends who he has toured and played with include Todd Snider, Ryan Bingham, Band of Heathens, Alejandro Escovedo and James McMurtry, there’s one cover on the album The Soft Boys “Human Music”.

Beat Surrender favourite Jeffrey Foucault has released news of three albums and a tour to look forward too, cut and paste of the press release.
On November 16th Jeffrey will release his 6th full-length album, Cold Satellite, a collaboration with the contemporary American poet Lisa Olstein, author of Radio Crackling Radio Gone and Lost Alphabet, both published by Copper Canyon Press. Recorded fast and loose with a full band, Cold Satellite’s stripped down ethos hearkens back to albums by Crazy Horse and the Faces, pairing Olstein’s visceral and imagistic language with the rawboned authority of a rock n’ roll band.
On November 17th Jeffrey will begin a short Northeast tour with the full Cold Satellite band, with stops in Somerville and Fall River MA, Brooklyn NY, and White River Junction VT. Get the full details and listen to two free cuts from the album at www.coldsatellite.com. The album will be available for physical purchase through www.jeffreyfoucault.com, and digitally via iTunes and all other online music purveyors starting November 16th.
– December will see the release of Redbird: Live at the Cafe Carpe. Each December for the past seven years Redbird – the loose affiliation of songwriters that includes Kris Delmhorst, David Goodrich, Jeffrey Foucault, and Peter Mulvey – has played a sold-out three-night stand at the venerable Cafe Carpe in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Now Redbird: Live at the Cafe Carpe invites you into the session, culling from these intimate shows performances of songs ranging from Mississippi John Hurt to Merle Haggard and Tin Pan Alley (along with a few well-chosen originals), and recapturing the magic and depth of old songs passed between friends in a crowded little bar.
– In October Jeffrey flew to Los Angeles to record the long awaited follow up to 2006’s Ghost Repeater. The as yet unnamed new album of eleven original songs features Eric Heywood (Pretenders, Ray LaMontagne) on pedal steel and electric guitars, Jennifer Condos (Ray LaMontagne, Sam Phillips) on bass, Billy Conway (Morphine, Twinemen) on drums, and Van Dyke Parks (Ry Cooder, Brian Wilson, Lowell George) on keys, in addition to guest vocals by Kris Delmhorst. The release is planned for early 2011 on Signature Sounds Records.
– Beginning tonight Jeffrey will be on tour in Texas for three days, sharing the stage with Mark Erelli, playing songs from Seven Curses, their recent duet album of murder ballads (and probably some of their own tunes as well). Full details below and at www.jeffreyfoucault.com/tour.html
