There’s was something of a buzz surrounding this release from ex-Czar John Grant, this his debut solo effort supported by Texas indie-folk rockers Midlake has collected a choice selection of plaudits, despite or in-spite of this it’s sat in my inbox for a good time before I got around to having a listen.
Sometimes the hype is deserved and this is one of them, others have already professed the albums qualities in far more eloquent form than I can manage – so if this album flew under your personal radar I’ll point you here and here to read the plaudits – it really is a great piece of work created from adversity and well worth investing some time and money
