Jim Lauderdale “Patchwork River” (Thirty Tigers 2010)

Jim Lauderdale – I know the name of course but until recently on acquiring a copy of Patchwork River I did not have a single one of his nineteen studio albums – I will be remedying this oversight having thoroughly enjoyed the album in question, a collaborative effort with Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter, the individual songs are deftly stitched together by the pair into a classy collection of country tunes generously inflected with blues and soul, smoothly delivered with plenty of twang by Lauderdale.

Here’s a nugget from the album Jim Lauderdale – El Dorado
