It’s getting bit chilly in the mornings now harder to drag myself from underneath the duvet, one way of staving of the gloom and cold is too dose up on California sunshine, Rebecca Turners latest album Slowpokes has plenty of sweet vocal, sparkling strings and West Coast warmth to raise the temperature.
Rebecca describes her music as a “casserole of styles” taking in country-rock-folk-pop I’d say thats a fair sound bite, my pick from the album the opener Listen .Rebecca has being writing and playing since childhood but didn’t take the plunge into recording until her early thirties, Slowpokes is her second album and you can listen to more of the tracks along with others from her debut album Land of My Baby here.
Having recently posted a review with Jon Langford involved another former Mekon appears here too, Steve Goulding providing the drums on Slowpokes, only need one more for a hat-trick – Sally T where are you.
